Dinner Is Better With a Tee Time

Dinner is a good start. A little competition gives the night a second act. At Birdies in West Sacramento, you can share a meal, order a cocktail and take turns playing indoor golf without planning a second destination.

A date-night plan with room for both people

One of you can love golf. Neither of you has to. The best version of this date is a format you both want to try, with time to talk between shots and no pressure to turn the evening into a lesson.

Start with the time you want to spend together

Pick the evening first, then decide where golf belongs. Play before dinner if you want an easy conversation starter. Eat first if you would rather settle in before trying something new. Leave some space around the booking so a meal does not become a race against the clock.

  1. Before the visit: reserve a bay for the time and group size you want.
  2. At the bay: take warm-up shots and pick a simple format together.
  3. For the meal: browse the current menus and ask about food service during your bay time.

Make the game easy to join

House clubs are available. Comfortable clothes and a willingness to try are enough for a first visit. Take turns, keep clear of the hitting area and ask the team for help choosing a game. You do not have to finish a full round for the session to feel complete.

If you already play, let your date choose the pace. A shot that makes you both laugh is a useful result too. Save the swing diagnosis for a practice session you each actually want.

Budget for the bay, then the food and drinks

Standard bays cost $60 per hour for up to 8 guests; VIP bays cost $80 per hour for up to 14. The charge is per bay. Food, drinks and applicable checkout charges are separate.

For two people in a standard bay for an hour, the golf portion is $30 each. A double date with four people sharing the same bay is $15 each for that hour. These examples divide the standard $60 bay charge; they are not food-and-drink packages or special offers.

Choose the kind of evening you want

A quiet conversation and a busy watch party are different dates. Look at What’s On before reserving and ask whether other programming will overlap your visit. If a specific atmosphere, accessibility arrangement or dietary need matters, tell the team before you come.

You can also come for the restaurant and bar without building the evening around golf. The goal is to make a plan you want to be in, not to complete every part of the venue.
